Glowing lights.

So what do you do with four days until "winter break"?  I taught multiple age levels how to blend chalk pastels to make them have a glowing affect.  I do not teach "Christmas" but if a student decides that they want the holiday as their subject matter than have at it.  Fun was had by all this week. Happy "winter break":)

Out of nowhere.

So fourth grade had an opportunity to do some sculpting out of clay to work on their three dimensional thinking and all of a sudden a monster made out of tar was born. Sometimes you just never know what is going to be created....that is what is so exciting about Art!

Texture necklaces.

Kindergarten learned all about texture, which is one of the elements of art by the way.  We basically took a piece of clay and rolled it into a "sphere" and then put it on the floor and then stepped on it.  The students were amazed at the texture pattern a shoe print can make.  After glazing it we then used fine motor skills to string it and bead it.  The students loved wearing them out of the art room!
