It has been an awesome couple of weeks having mural artist Mike Lroy (and Kat!) with us here at Westside Elementary!!! We have a new friend.

The after school KAT program stopped by and went to town for a while on the unity mural!  We are ONE family!  We loved seeing the adults getting involved as well!  Westside is connected...adults AND kiddos.

Students were given brushes and paint as well as a license to express who they are on the UNITY wall. 

Of course “Willy the Wildcat” had to make his way into the mural!

Good old Mr. Cleveland got to paint Willy the Wildcat onto the wall! Willy looks soooo happy:)

I always go down memory lane when my students put on my smocks...they are all my old shirts!  They look like little Mr. Clevelands running around.

Our first experience of the mural with Mike is to create ideas that represent us!  We had a great day in the Art Room!

MIKE LROY.

We have an Artist in Residence with us for a few weeks!!! Artist Mike Lroy has joined us to help us create a mural in our school.  The mural has the meaning of  “UNITY”. At Westside we like to say everyday that  “We Are One Family”. Mike and his sidekick Kat have joined us to make that come to life through art.  My students are way excited to be working together to complete this mural.
