I threw in a James Rizzi clay project right after they did their James Rizzi cityscape paintings. My fifth graders might be Rizzied out now.....I'm not though. Clay, fluorescent paint, and sticks were used for this project. Thyey learned about the art element of "Form".

Tessellations.
Fifth graders have been working on Tessellations for a while, this took way longer than I thought it would. We studied M.C. Escher. With a few cuts you can turn a square into a more interesting shape. Good stuff Wildcats!

Eye study.
The fifth graders did an eye study. We painted using tints and tones, shadows and highlights. The students also learned the different parts of the exterior eye. SEE!
