Owls of pattern.
Second grade drew owls along with me and then used crayon, oil pastel, and tempera paint to create pattern and color. A little bit of depth through overlapping thrown in there as well. It was a good one day activity! Whoo!

Eye study.
The fifth graders did an eye study. We painted using tints and tones, shadows and highlights. The students also learned the different parts of the exterior eye. SEE!

The use of SPACE.
The second graders learned about space and how the way you use space affects how you see things. Space is basically the area around and between objects. Second graders got it!

Monstober.
I had multiple classes do oil pastel monsters while I was out taking care of a family situation. The students loved it as well as the sub I had. Really, how can you not love doodling a monster. Tis the season.

Rainbow Line Paintings
My kinders and first graders painted lines using the rainbow order. We discussed the many different kinds of line as well as some basic color theory.

Color schemes and patterns.
The fourth graders discussed and learned about what a color scheme is and how to use it in a design. Also, they brought back their pattern skills from way back in kindergarten. The students used a template I made to draw the leaf, that way there was no stress involved with this project!
