Winter Cardinals.
Second grade did a great job using the art style called pointillism to create these awesome Cardinals in the Winter. We explored line, space, shape, balance and technique. The little artists used nothing but their finger to paint these beauties.

Mark Rothko imposters.
First graders learned about an artist originally from Russia named Mark Rothko. He was an abstract expressionist. Basically he painted a few colors on a canvas and called it good:) Anyway, we studied one of his paintings that sold for $86,882,500! It was called Orange, Red, Yellow. Painted in 1961. I think first grade did just as good as he did:)

Gameboy out of nowhere.
A couple of weeks ago this was found stapled to my wall:) I really enjoy when I see something that was from the 80's.....also know as my childhood. Little random images also tells me a little more about the artists that create them.

Kinder-Cardinals.
Kindergarten collaged some awesome cardinals playing in the snow. We are hitting hard the use of shapes as well as our basic cutting skills. They are coming around:)
