Third grade was given the challenge of painting the perfect Fall tree. I googled the perfect Fall tree painting and showed the students what google thought was the perfect Fall tree. We then discussed the different paintings and came to realize everyone is different and has a different idea of the perfect tree. After our discussion they just painted away....nice job third.

Piet Mondrian paintings.
Second grade learned about the artist Piet Mondrian. He mostly used the primary colors which is what we were learning about. Second grade students also learned through Piet that sometimes art can be incredibly simple. So we painted little Mondrians ourselves. Everyone was successful!

The study of color.
Third grade just got done studying the color wheel and how colors basically work. So we did a paint test to see if they understand. Fun test, I got good reviews on this one. Nice work third.
